Movi's patented design offers a wide range of seating postions. For simplicity, we will talk about 3. The first position is a reclined seating oreintation based on extensive research in proper spinal posture and comfort. The seat profile and reclined oreintation are designed to provide the most comfort and the most optimal spinal for the widest range of users.
The upright seating position is similar to a car seat. Unlike a 90 degree desk chair, the hip angle is more open to promote neutral spinal posture. This seat profile and spatial relationship to the load bearing foot support surface is identical to the reclined position, only rotated forward. By comparing the first and second postions, you can see how the user can change postion over time from reclined to upright to dramtically alter muscular and tissue loadng. The goal is to improve overall comfort, circulation and conditioning.
By pivoting all the way forward, Movi mimics the way our bodies naturally stand. The powered Patient Assist Lift, or PAL, raises the user into a postion that is much easier to stand from, or to sit down into. Note how the foot support surface automatically moves flush to the floor. The user no longer has to step up or have their legs lifted onto a raised surface. PAL doesn't provide all the work in standing, but greatly reduces the standing effort of the user while also reducing the stress on anyone who is helping provide assistance.
